The panel borders are only temporary - it's just so I can see what's what when I paint it.

I'm compiling the critiques for the original blueline and the inks into one post, because I'm lazy like that.

As both the artist and inker, it is incredibly easy for you to stay true to your vision of the piece, and considering the personal nature of the piece, I feel you are the only one who can say how close to that vision you are. With that being said, I would wager that whatever vision you have for the piece, you feel as if you are right in line with it.

There isn't much rendering in this piece, perhaps you're looking to do the majority of the rendering with the colors, I don't know. I would recommend that you not go overboard, however, because the simple lineart works SO very well with the vibe I'm getting from this work. This isn't something that needs a Scott Williams touch... the emotional transition, the focus on the conversation between the two, THAT'S the impact, and it comes through so well in the clean linework.

Your facial construction and your portrayal of emotion is fantastic. It's pretty easy to follow the emotional progression through the story, from "It's rough and I don't know what to do," to, "Yea, everything will be okay" (at least, that's the take I have on it). The faces are great, you didn't go overboard on the lines, and everything looks SOLID.

All in all, I feel like I'm getting a glimpse into the life of a couple, and it feels like a real and pure moment. I think we can tell you, "mission accomplished."
