A Daily Deviation!
My Night Raven colour test piece was awarded a very surprising Daily Deviation today, and I must say I'm delighted!
I worry a lot about colour, and how much I mess things up when I try to use it, so to receive a DD for a piece of my colour experimentation is genuinely thrilling for me.
Many, many thanks to ^DrZime (https://www.deviantart.com/drzime) for showcasing a piece of my work.

Second DD
Firstly, many thanks to ^DrZime (https://www.deviantart.com/drzime) for the Daily Deviation, it's really appreciated! There's so much great work shown here it's a privilege to be counted amongst them.
Secondly, thank you to all those who came by to see / fave the piece and to add me to their Watch lists - I hope that I can do stuff that's worth looking at!
New Series
I'm starting a new series, showing here initially until I find a different host. It's probably going to be the World's Dullest Series, but it's something that interests me.
It's called 'A Day', and I'm planning on telling the story of one day in the life of the protagonist. The format won't change. One landscape panel per 'issue'.
First one is here, more to follow.

You nailed the time frame for a post-apocaliptic scenario. There was in fact a void between the roman departure and foreign invasion.
Though its a hard era to document and find references about, i think you're doing a good job.
And last but not least, mixing domestic and action is the way to go, i'll explain from my point of view:
1-full action comics are sterile, IMHO.
2-mixing both will alow you to expand the characters way beyond normal comics.
3-you can change tempo jumping from one to the other.

4-the characters build up along the story (this is a quite personal point if view, because i hate when the character appears describing himself or as a card with traits in the last page of the comic, like in some manga).
5-and... you will have more room to write it according to your will, instead of following a strict guideline.
In short, it´s quite good.
